4-day ko olina itinerary

Planning a trip to Ko Olina soon? That’s so exciting! Visiting a new place is always fun, but planning your vacation can be stressful. Luckily, we have you covered with our 4-Day Ko Olina Itinerary!

We’ve selected our favorite restaurants, outdoor adventures, and classic things to do in Ko Olina for you to explore during your trip here. Read on to see what made the cut for our 4-Day Ko Olina Itinerary!

Day 1: Do Some Swimming & Snorkeling!

Morning: Fuel Up with Coffee

If you arrive in the morning, settle in with coffee and a delicious breakfast from Island Vintage Coffee. You’ll need fuel for the day ahead!

Afternoon: Get in the Water!

On your first day in Oahu, you’ll want to do some of the classics: swimming and snorkeling!

Lucky for you, the Ko Olina Lagoons are perfect for snorkeling. There are four lagoons, and the walk from Lagoon 1 to Lagoon 4 is just about a mile and a half, making it easy to check out each one and find your favorite! We’re big fans of Lagoon #2, Honu Lagoon, which sits right next to rentals like Beach Tower 209 at Ko Olina and offers some of the best snorkeling around.

With calm waters and a depth of 4-5 feet, Ko Olina is a fantastic spot for kids to try snorkeling for the first time. Watch their excitement as they spot colorful sea life like goatfish, butterflyfish, and the Moorish idol! For a guided experience, consider a Ko Olina Snorkel Tour and learn from the pros.

The lagoons are great for swimming and splashing around, too, so even if you’re not in a snorkeling mood, relaxing on Ko Olina Beach is a great option.

Dinner: Try Some Poke

Again, since it’s day one, you’ll want to experience authentic Oahu food for dinner. Try a local poke spot like Tropic Poke in Kapolei.

Day 2: Check Out the Nearby Disney Aulani Resort

You don’t have to be a guest to take advantage of the offerings at the nearby Disney Aulani Resort. There are so many activities to partake in here!

Morning: Oahu Breakfast!

Before you dive right in, don’t forget the most important meal of the day. Head over to Eggs ‘n Things for a deliciously filling breakfast!

Afternoon: Shopping & Spa Day!

In the afternoon, go shopping at the Disney Aulani shops! If you want to get a souvenir to bring back home, Hale Manu is a great stop. Kalepa’s Store carries vacation essentials, so if you forgot to pack something for your trip, stop in here for it.

After you shop til you drop, indulge in some self-care! Laniwai, the spa at the Disney Aulani Resort, is open to all visitors, not just resort guests. We can’t think of a better way to relax on vacation! They have a full range of signature services like Kilikili (Fine Gentle Rain) and  Wai Lomilomi, plus plenty of skincare treatments that will leave your skin glowing. Traveling with your partner? Book a couples massage to make the most of paradise together.

Dinner: Dine at the Resort

Since you’re already in the area, you have to finish out day number two with a proper Disney Aulani Resort dinner. The restaurants here are outstanding, so you can’t go wrong. If you’re looking for a fine dining experience, you have to try ‘AMA‘AMA.

Day 3: Head Out on a Boat Charter!

Morning: Classic Pancakes for Breakfast!

In the mood for a classic pancake breakfast? Yum, sounds good to us. Check out Koa Pancake House for pancakes, omelets, crepes, waffles, and other breakfast favorites.

Afternoon: Go on a Whale Watch!

If you’re here during whale season, you must head out on a whale-watching expedition. It’s a classic Oahu activity!

Did you know that humpback whales migrate to Hawaii to raise their young? They return yearly to give birth to their calves and then migrate back North when their young ones are strong enough to survive the journey home. Whale-watching season occurs around late fall to early spring, so you have a decent window of time to see these majestic creatures.

Humpback whales are the most common whales to spot, but you may also see a pilot whale. Don’t miss out on this extraordinary experience! Check out these local companies for tours:

If you aren’t here during whale-watching season, no worries! You can still head out on a Ko Olina boating charter. See spectacular ocean views and maybe even reel in some catches! Plus, you can still catch a glimpse of other marine life, like dolphins, while you’re on the water.

Dinner: Local Classic

You’re sure to work up an appetite on your boating adventure. Roy’s Ko Olina is our pick for dinner on day 3! Menu options like Roy’s Original Blackened Island Ahi will surely keep you satisfied.

Day 4: Hang Ten!

Morning: Splurge for Breakfast

Splurge for your last breakfast/brunch on the island! Longhi’s has delicious food and impeccable views that will make you wish you were here for even longer. Brunch options from them include world-famous benedicts, acai bowls, gourmet French toast, and so much more.

Afternoon: Try Surfing!

Well, it wouldn’t be a trip to Oahu if you didn’t try your hand at surfing at least once. If you’re nervous about trying surfing for the first time, don’t worry! There are plenty of beginner spots to try, and you can even take surfing lessons while you learn the ropes.

If you want to stay in Ko Olina while you surf, Tracks Beach is a good option. You could also head to nearby White Plains Beach, a beginner-friendly surfing location. Check out our blog on the best surfing spots on Oahu to learn more about our favorite places (though many of them lie further north than Ko Olina).

Dinner: Another Cherished Local Staple

Before you jet out, enjoy your last dinner in Ko Olina at Monkey Pod, a beloved restaurant with all our favorite food options. You have to try their Monkey Mai Thai!
